 ESTATE SALE PROCESS

STEP 1

FREE CONSULTATION

The first step is to coordinate a walk through to get an understanding of the items you are looking to sell. Our sales are held on-site at the homes. If you do not have enough items for an estate sale then we will give recommendations for the best plan for you.

If it is determined that an estate sale is the best fit then we can begin to work out the details.  Buyers who attend the sales assume that everything is for sale.  If any items are excluded from the sale then those items either have to be removed or pushed aside and covered. It's important to set a deadline for family members from removing items so that our marketing correctly reflects the items available at the sale. Most sales need 1-2 days for us to sort, organize and price and that is done the week of the sale.  Sales are held on a Saturday or Sunday. We will need a key to access the property for the process.

STEP 3

ESTATE SALE

It is best that the owners are not present for the day of the sale. A typical sale lasts 5-6 hours.  We handle all the marketing for the sale.  We have the capability to accept cash or credit cards for items sold.

We have a few companies that we can recommend to remove any items leftover from the sale.  They can supply our clients with a quote to clean out as needed.

STEP 5

PAYOUT

We wait a week from the day of the sale to allow the credit card transactions to clear.  Once complete, we will supply a check, itemized receipt of the items sold, receipt to advertise in the newspaper and an overall receipt summary.  On average, our clients receive 2/3 of the total sales minus the small fee to advertise in the newspaper (usually $30).
